Types of Channel Letters

Pick the look that fits your brand — we'll engineer the rest.

Front-Lit (Face-Lit)

The workhorse: bright LED-illuminated faces that read clearly from down the block, day and night.

Halo-Lit (Reverse Channel)

Light washes backward onto the wall for an upscale halo effect — popular with offices, hotels and restaurants.

Front + Back Lit Combo

Maximum impact: illuminated faces with a halo behind them. Your sign becomes a landmark.

Non-Illuminated Letters

Dimensional letters without lighting — clean daytime branding for interiors and buildings with strong facade lighting.

Pricing">

What Affects Pricing

Honest guidance before you call.

Channel letter pricing comes down to a handful of factors: letter height and count, illumination type (front-lit vs. halo), raceway vs. individual mounting, installation height and access, and local permit requirements.

As a rough market reference — not a Power NYC quote — small storefront sets in our region commonly run a few thousand dollars, while large multi-letter building installations reach five figures. Every project we do is quoted individually and itemized, and quotes are always free: (718) 769-3769.

Channel Letter FAQ

Straight answers about channel letter signs.

What are channel letter signs?

Three-dimensional letters mounted on your storefront — each letter is its own illuminated (or non-illuminated) unit. They're the most common sign type for retail, restaurants and offices because they read clearly day and night.

What's the difference between front-lit and halo-lit letters?

Front-lit (face-lit) letters shine out of the face toward the street — brightest and most common. Halo-lit (reverse channel) letters glow from behind, creating a refined halo effect on the wall. Combination letters do both.

How long does a channel letter project take?

Design and fabrication typically take a few weeks, then installation is usually done in a day or two depending on size and access. Permits can add time in some municipalities — we handle that part for you.

How much do channel letter signs cost?

Every project is different — letter size, count, illumination type and installation complexity all matter. As a rough market reference (not a Power NYC quote), small storefront sets in our region commonly run a few thousand dollars, while large multi-letter building signs reach five figures. Our quotes are free and itemized.

Do you service the channel letters you install?

Yes — and we service ones we didn't install, too. See our sign repair page for troubleshooting, LED module replacement and maintenance plans.
